Fine & Pommes

Elopement in Positano

Elopement in Positano

Elopement in Positano isn’t the exact right title. But it hopefully helps me getting there again (yes, I am talking to you 😉 )

Fine & Pommes (yes, that is the grooms official name written on his ID) actually got married back in 2017 in Ravello, which is a town at the Amalfi coast, half an hour from Positano. Almost exactly a year after their wedding, I was invited to shoot the anniversary elopement style. Just the three of us: bride, groom and me as the photographer. We needed to get up early in the morning, F&P got ready at their hotel room. with a pretty good overlook of Positano. We then went on to have a walk around the city, both with their original wedding vows.

As I am a much better photographer than I am a writer, the best advice I can give you is to just jump into the photos; I could write about everything, but the renewal of the wedding vows still gives me the shivers. It’s hard to find the right words for those moments. Having my couples trust to share such intimate moments with me is more than I can hope for.

You can see the bond between them and it really helped having a good time while shooting portraits (now with a lighter dress) until it got too hot and we got too hungry. After  we had breakfast, we went to the city to grab a small boat, which drove along the coast for quite a while, until it began to rain and we needed to go back again.

But that’s all stuff, you can see in the elopement photographs below.

What you cannot see is the deep connection both have with the Amalfi Coast and Positano in special. Not just because they got engaged and married there, and not only because it’s part of Fine’s childhood. But also because the whole region stands for the common adventure of my wedding couple. For unforseen uncertainty and moments of pure joy. It’s so much more than „just a cool place“ and now it’s more than that for me, too.

Now go on and proceed to watch the photos I took.
