Portraits in Amsterdam

Michelle in Amsterdam

Michelle in Amsterdam

So this will be an english text. Because I met Michele in Amsterdam and we were talking english all the time. But first things first.

Last week I went to Amsterdam to attend a workshop by Jonas Peterson. I chose Amsterdam because I never been there and being away from home helps me to put things in perspective, work wise but even more so on a personal level. It is important to take some time off every now and then, even if it is just for 2 days. But I hope I can find the time to talk about this another time. The day before the workshop, I already knew I wanted to take photos. Whether it would be portraits or a couple shoot would be up to who I could find, but if you don’t know anybody in the city, it’s not exactly easy to find willing people.

Michele attended the workshop herself (you can find her work over here:  Portrait-Portfolio / Wedding-Portfolio). Because we were a small group, I quickly found out she would stay in the city some days, as did I. Everyone else needed to head back home and I just *had* to ask her, if she would join me to take some photos. I sent her some files the other day and luckily we found a small window, where she could find the time to get out, have a walk in the city, chat and let me do the photo work. Trying to things and having fun with the camera gets quickly forgotten, if you have a lot to do and I am really really happy I had Micheles complete trust in me. Especially, since she takes portraits as well. What you see is how I could get to know Michele in that short span of time we had. It is how the both of us were in the city on a foggy morning. You may not see it, but I get the mood I was in, having some time off in a foreign city.
